Russia and China strongly criticized the United States on Tuesday for withdrawing from the Paris Agreement.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov (pictured) warned that Washington's pullout "seriously undermines" the climate change accord as the US is the leader in terms of emissions. Meanwhile, Beijing expressed "regret" over the US' decision.
On Monday, Washington informed the United Nations that it officially "began the process to withdraw from the Paris Agreement" and noted the withdrawal will take effect in November 2020. French President Emmanuel Macron also voiced regret about the US leaving the Paris accord and stressed that cooperation between Europe and China will be "decisive" in reducing emissions.
