Russia, China to sign a number of possible landmark deals

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich (pictured) announced on Monday Russia and China might be signing a vast number of landmark agreements amid the upcoming St. Petersburg Economic Forum (SPIEF) in June, according to Sputnik.

"I do not rule out the signing of landmark contracts [with China at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum] and during the president's visit to China," said Dvorkovich, hinting Russia’s President Vladimir Putin might be planning to conclude several energy-related deals during his upcoming visit, the article stated.

Russia and China are currently undergoing negotiations over Russian energy giant Gazprom and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and their collaboration on the western gas route to China.
