Russia and Ukraine complete 2nd round of major prisoner swap

PA-EFE/STRINGER

Russia and Ukraine carried out the second phase of a major prisoner exchange, with each side releasing 307 individuals, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The swap followed a deal reached during direct talks in Istanbul on May 16, marking the largest such agreement since the conflict began. This exchange is part of a broader agreement to release 1,000 prisoners from each side.

Russia said it brought back 307 servicemen from Ukrainian-controlled areas.
