The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Monday that the "North" group of troops had liberated the villages of Uspenovka and Borki in the Kursk region.
The ministry claimed these gains were part of ongoing operations to repel Ukrainian attempts to breach Russian territory. However, officials also stated they inflicted significant losses on Ukrainian forces, including the defeat of several mechanized, tank, and air assault brigades in areas surrounding Lyubimovka and Novoivanivka.
According to the ministry, in total, during the hostilities in Kursk, Ukrainian troops have lost more than 13,800 troops, 115 tanks, 44 infantry fighting vehicles, and 28 multiple rocket launching systems, including seven HIMARS and six MLRS.
