The International Atomic Energy Agency said the link between the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and one of its four main external power lines was re-established on Saturday.
The Russian-held power plant will receive electricity to cool its reactors by connecting to the national grid again, after having to use the switchyard of a nearby thermal power station for over a week.
"While ZNPP power status has improved over the past week, the situation is still precarious and I have initiated consultations with relevant parties aimed at the urgent establishment of a nuclear safety and security protection zone at the ZNPP," IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said.
