The Russian air defense system overnight shot down five HIMARS shells and two presumed to be Storm Shadow missiles over Kherson, according to a representative of the region's emergency services.
The shelling is said to have targeted civilian infrastructure in Novaya Kakhovka, Kakhovka, Vasilyevka, Tavriysk, and Lazurnoye settlements.
The Ukrainian armed forces reportedly fired a total of 26 shells from cannon artillery, with seven rockets launched from the HIMARS multiple rocket launcher.
