Igor Sechin, head of Rosneft and executive secretary of the Commission for the President of the Russian Federation on the strategy of development of the fuel and energy industry and environmental safety, said on Thursday that Russia has already supplied China with more than 75 million tons of oil in 2023, 25% more than for the same period in 2022.
Speaking at the Russian-Chinese Energy Business Forum, Sechin noted that in the first eight months of 2023, Russia became the main supplier of oil to China, surpassing Saudi Arabia. He also drew attention to the fact that this year Moscow will supply the latter country with more than 30 billion cubic meters of gas, which is a new historical record.
