Russia inspects Palau-flagged cargo ship in Black Sea

The Russian Ministry of Defense revealed on Sunday that the Navy's patrol ship Vasily Bykov stopped the Palau-flagged cargo vessel in the Black Sea which was heading to the Ukrainian port of Izmail.

"To forcibly stop the vessel from the Russian warship, warning fire was opened from automatic small arms," the ministry said, but added that after the inspection, the ship resumed movement to the port in Ukraine.

The ministry stressed that the Black Sea Fleet ships will continue to patrol in the area.
