The Russian Foreign Ministry's Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova (pictured) stated Thursday that Russia is monitoring Finland's actions on the issue of nuclear weapons after joining NATO.
"In this regard, I would like to focus on Finnish Foreign Minister Haavisto's statements that he is convinced that nuclear weapons will not appear on Finnish territory after Finland's accession to NATO," Zakharova commented to the press.
However, she added, Moscow will also assess the circumstances "not by words, but by deeds," especially because it is an "extremely sensitive" topic.
