Ukrainian state nuclear operator Energoatom warned on Monday that Russian forces are prepared to "blow up" the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, as Ukraine and Russia blame each other for attacks on the plant in recent days.
Energoatom cited Valeriy Vasyliev, in charge of the Russian garrison at the plant, as saying that "we have planted mines in all the important facilities of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant." According to the energy agency, Vasyliev also stated that Zaporizhzhia will be "either Russian land or a scorched desert."
