The Russian government is currently assessing the possibility of extending the restrictions on gas exports for two more months, until the end of October 2025, Kommersant reported on Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

According to Kommersant, the topic was discussed with Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak at a meeting, after which, the Russian Ministry of Energy and the FAS reported that retail fuel prices are stable and that there is no shortage.

The ban on gas exports in Russia lasted from March to August 2024. After a temporary reprieve, it was extended until September, when the Kremlin allowed exports for producers with more than 1 million tons of gasoline per year. The last restrictions were imposed in February this year and will last until the end of August.
