Russia sanctions 39 Australians

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday it added 39 Australian individuals to its sanctions list in retaliatiory move.

The ministry noted those targeted by the latest measures include representatives of law enforcement agencies, the border service, and defense companies. Moscow accused Canberrra of "Russophobic sentiments" and warned any further action against Russians could provoke further countermeasures.

Since Russia launched its attack on UKraine, Australia imposed several rounds of sanctions against the country and its citizens.
