The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Friday that it eliminated a Ukrainian citizen who was preparing a "terrorist" attack in the Zaporizhzhia region.
"This individual, acting on instructions from foreign intelligence services, prepared an improvised explosive device for the subsequent execution of a sabotage-terrorist act in the territory of the Zaporizhzhia region. During the search of a private residence where the perpetrator was located, an attempt was made to resist FSB officers using firearms. In return fire, the saboteur was neutralized," FSB stated, noting that the officers were not injured.
According to FSB, the Ukrainian citizen had been recruited by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and was wanted for several "particularly serious" crimes, including an attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.
