Russian military forces said on Monday that units of its "Center" group had taken control of the settlement of Lunacharske in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic. The announcement, made on the military's Telegram channel, described the move as the result of "active operations."
Earlier the same day, Ukraine's Air Force reported that Russian forces launched 71 drones of various types overnight toward Ukrainian territory. The news comes as Washington and Moscow prepare for their heads of state to meet in Alaska to discuss a ceasefire and possible territory swapping, with Europe strictly opposing such a move.
