Russian Deputy Representative to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky revealed on Thursday that the country has requested another United Nations Security Council meeting on September 6, regarding the situation on Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (ZNPP).
Polyansky explained in his Telegram Channel that the request was made in light of Ukraine's attempts to disrupt the visit of IAEA experts to the facility, as well as due to the ongoing shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the region.
In addition, the Russian representative to the UN noted that Moscow has also requested to observe International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Grossi's report on the results of the delegation's visit to the facility. In addition, Russia expects the participation of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at the meeting.
