Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Friday that the United States committed an "egregious violation" of international obligations by promising to deliver Mi-17 helicopters to Ukraine in the latest security assistance package worth $700 million.

"The point is that the package of 'aid' to Ukraine announced on June 1 by the US administration includes, among other things, 4 Mi- 17, which our country previously handed over to the United States for use exclusively in Afghanistan," Zakharova said. She also accused the US of "irresponsibly supplying long-range missile and artillery systems to Ukraine."
