Russia to build gas pipeline to China by 2024 - report

Mongolian Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai (pictured) told the Financial Times the country expects Moscow to build the Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline to China through its territory, as Russia looks to reroute its gas deliveries from Europe to Asia, with construction expected to begin in 2024.

Previously, Moscow announced plans to further increase gas supply to China via the Power of Siberia pipeline in accordance with the terms of the two countries' contract, noting that gas exports to the country jumped by 63.4% in the first six months of 2022. According to Gazprom Chief Alexei Miller, China will become "its key customer in the future."

EIA: US natural gas inventories up by 88 Bcf
Working gas storage across the United States observed a weekly rise of 88 billion cubic feet (Bcf) to reach 1,934 Bcf in the week ending April 18, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) revealed in its report published on Thursday.The stocks declined by 478 Bcf compared to the same period a year ago and remained 44 Bcf below the five-year average of 1,978 Bcf. Total working gas was within the five-year historical range.
