Russia won't take part in Council of Europe - FM

Russia will no longer participate in the work of the Council of Europe, its Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.

The 47-member organization turned into a platform solely dedicated to the "spreading of tales of western superiority, and narcissism," the ministry said in a statement, adding that "Russia will no longer take part in that."

Not to be mistaken for the European Council, the Council of Europe is an international humanitarian organization founded in 1949.
