Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova confirmed on Wednesday that the Black Sea Grain Initiative will be extended for two months. "Thus, there is a chance not in words, but in deeds to help ensure global food security," she told reporters, according to RIA Novosti.
However, Zakharova said Russia's issues regarding the deal have not been solved. "Our fundamental assessments of the Istanbul agreements of 2022 have not changed, and the imbalances in implementation should be corrected as quickly as possible," she said.
