Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated on Wednesday that the joint nuclear plans of the United States and South Korea are aimed at hindering Russia and China.
"Practicing scenarios of geopolitical armed conflict with the use of nuclear weapons incites further escalation of tensions, undermines peace and stability, and pushes the subregion to the brink of nuclear catastrophe," Zakharova said at a press briefing.
The diplomat further noted that a conflict in the Korean Peninsula would benefit the US military industry, as it would provide more contracts for its defense sector.
