Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Kinshchak anticipated on Thursday that the joint operations by the United States and the United Kingdom to dismantle Houthi's military capabilities in the Red Sea "are unlikely to succeed."
In an interview with RIA Novosti, Kinshchak stated that instead of helping to reduce tensions in the Middle East, both countries are "provoking a further expansion of the war zone and an increase in the intensity of hostilities" as they insist on keeping on hitting Houthi's targets to protect commercial shipping.
In addition, he warned that the US and UK's actions "have a negative impact on the process of resolving" internal Yemen's crisis, affecting negotiations and the meditation of different countries looking for a de-escalation of the conflict inside and outside Yemen.
