Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov (pictured left) traveled on Friday to Ankara for talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu (right). The two are expected to discuss a range of bilateral issues, as well as the war in Ukraine, the Black Sea Grain Initiative, the situation in Syria and the Nagorno-Karabakh crisis.
In late March, Turkish media speculated that Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Turkey, which was later denied by the Kremlin. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he was open to considering China's proposal for peace in Ukraine, although it is unclear whether Lavrov and Cavusoglu will discuss it.
