Shares in Asia-Pacific traded mixed on Friday as investors reacted to the economic data coming out of Japan.

Released by the country's Statistics Bureau, Tokyo consumer price data saw the city's inflation surprising expectations in July. Industrial production for the whole country also landed above the estimates in June, while retail sales and the unemployment figures for the same month both disappointed expectations.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite went down by 0.54% 04:57 am CET, as the Shenzhen Composite lost 0.81%. A minute later, South Korea's Kospi and Australian S&P/ASX 200 added 0.63% and 0.91%, respectively. At 04:59 am CET, Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell by 1.56%, as the dollar added 0.03% against the yen, going for 134.3070. Japan's Nikkei 225 added 0.46% at 04:35 am CET.
