Russian air transportation sector was "under attack" as the West opted for sanctions and "open political pressure on commercial companies," Russia's President Vladimir Putin stressed on Monday.
Speaking at a government meeting, he also pointed out that mid-term plans for the development of the aviation industry are needed as Moscow is making efforts "to strengthen the economic and technological sovereignty."
The current situation in the country is "a unique opportunity to reach a fundamentally new level of development in order to fully realize our own scientific, technological, industrial potential," the president also noted.
