Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev told Israeli National Security Council Chairman Tzachi Hanegbi during their telephone conversation on Monday that it is crucial to exercise restraint to prevent further escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.

Patrushev underlined Moscow's stance to resolve "differences exclusively" by "diplomatic means." The conversation between the two parties came amid the burning tensions between Israel and Iran following Tehran's retaliatory attack on Israeli territory after Israel's deadly airstrike on Iranian consulate in Syria earlier this month.
