Five civilians were killed and 13 injured in Russian shelling of Ukraine overnight, according to Kyrylo Tymoshenko, deputy head of Ukraine's presidential office.
Tymoshenko said three casualties and four injuries were reported in the Donetsk region, with the other two deaths confirmed in Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv. There were four wounded in Kharkiv and four in the recently-liberated Kherson, while one person was injured in Zaporizhzhia.
The news comes shortly after Moscow accused the Ukrainian troops of shelling Russian positions in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic.
