Economic Advisor to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Maxim Oreshkin (pictured), stated on Thursday that inflation in Russia would not exceed 15% by the end of the year.

Commenting on the economic outlook of the Russian Federation during the educational marathon "New horizons" by the society Knowledge, the advisor said the economy would not grow in 2022 by more than 5%. On the other hand, he also added that the unemployment situation is entirely manageable.

Regarding the ruble, he added that the exchange rate is currently absolutely market-based, without any external influence from the authorities. "Many people are saying that the exchange rate is somehow false. They are trying to deny reality. But, in fact, the exchange rate was artificial last year. And this year, it is absolutely market-based, without any external influence," Oreshkin said.
