NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said on Thursday that he no longer attempts to analyze Russian President Vladimir Putin's intentions, stating plainly: "I've stopped trying to read his mind."
Replying to journalists' questions following his meeting with United States President Donald Trump, Rutte said he does not know whether the Russian head of state truly wants peace, adding that "something is on the table" regarding a potential resolution between Moscow and Kiev. However, he stressed the next move must come from Russia.
Rutte also rejected reports claiming he would urge the United States not to push Ukraine into accepting a Russia-friendly peace deal.
