Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov stated that new BRICS partners will be able to submit ideas, but they will not allowed to participate in voting or coordinating documents, according to a report by the TASS.
The high-ranking diplomat said that partner countries' status is well-established, adding that it "presupposes participation in BRICS mechanisms," as well as submitting their own ideas if the partners have any, "to the judgment of the old-timers." However, he clarified that "they are not allowed to make decisions."
Ryabkov stated that states invited to become partners in BRICS have "received detailed, specific explanations of what this status entails."
