Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed al-Jadaan said on Monday that his country could become a bridge for improving relations between the United States and China.
Speaking about challenges in the upcoming year, Al-Jadaan told CNBC that Riyadh would maintain an open dialogue will all political powers despite the crisis in Ukraine and the energy crisis, as well as worsening relations between Washington and Beijing.
Commenting on the possibility that his country mediates the talks between the US and China, the minister said that Riyadh "made its position very clear on these issues... I would say absolutely yes. We have a very strategic relationship with the US, and we have a close relationship with China, and we think we can bridge the gap," he concluded.
