South Korean Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) revealed on Saturday that the country's daily death toll from COVID-19 reached a three-month high, with 70 new deaths recorded and the total number standing at 31,744.
Meanwhile, new COVID-19 cases came in at 66,211, staying below 70,000 for the second consecutive day. The number of critically ill patients rose by 4 from the previous day, to reach 534.
Previously, the South Korean government announced that it is planning to remove the indoor mask mandate in phases.
