A South Korean delegation, led by special envoy Yoon Yeo-joon, visited Brussels this week to strengthen ties with the European Union, South Korea's foreign ministry said on Thursday.
The official met with European Council President Antonio Costa on Tuesday and European Parliament Vice President Christel Schaldemose on Wednesday, sharing President Lee Jae-myung's policy goals and handing Costa a personal letter from Lee.
He is also said to have highlighted Seoul's push to "open a path for peace and co-existence on the Korean Peninsula by resuming inter-Korean dialogue, reducing military tensions and building trust."
