South Korea's Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday that it introduced sanctions against ten individuals and two institutions over their alleged involvement in North Korea's "illegal" weapons trade with other countries, including Russia.
Among those targeted by the measures are North Korean Defense Minister Kang Sun-nam and former head of the North's Korean People's Army's General Staff Pak Su-il.
Earlier this month, Russia insisted that it did not sign any defense cooperation deals with Pyongyang during North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's visit to the country, while Seoul has claimed that Russia is already using North Korea-provided weapons in Ukraine.
