The South Korean Defense Ministry strongly criticized President Kim Jong-un's recent remarks regarding the expansion of North Korea's nuclear and missile capabilities, reinforcement of defenses, and the intention to launch three additional reconnaissance satellites in the upcoming year.

"We sternly warn that if North Korea ever tries to use nuclear weapons against us, we will respond overwhelmingly with the 'tri-axis system' and the epoch-making extended deterrence of the US-South Korea alliance, and Kim Jong Un's power will meet its end," the statement reads.

The document further urged North Korea to stop nuclear development "immediately" as the international community unanimously opposes it and to go back to "denuclearization."
