Seok Jong-gun, commissioner of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA), promised that he would speed up South Korea's weapon acquisition to better prepare the country's military against North Korean threats, Yonhap reported.

The "three-axis" deterrence system consisting of tracking, detecting, and destroying North Korean missiles will be greatly bolstered in a bid to "prepare for future warfare by using emerging technologies." Seok stated that among the emerging technologies that will be used in the future, the country will focus on the procurement of artificial intelligence, networks, drones, space, and cyber equipment.

"We will diversify financial support measures for arms exports and deepen international cooperation in major markets to provide a wide range of policy support measures," Seok said.
