South Korea's Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning stated Thursday that it aims to launch the Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA) in May of 2024 in a bid to join other advanced nations in spaceflight.
The ministry further announced its goal to stake its hold in the business by obtaining a 10% share of the global spaceflight market by 2045. KASA's main focus will be aeronautic and space research, which will include the exploration of the Moon and Mars.
Seoul plans to land a spacecraft on the Moon in 2032 and one on Mars in 2045. KASA is predicted to create 500,000 jobs and 2,000 related companies.
