Approximately 3,500 SAP SE employees in Germany are expected to sign an early retirement agreement, Handelsbaltt reported on Monday, citing sources from the company.
The job cuts come as part of SAP's transformation program, officially named Next Level Transformation, which is projected to affect between 9,000 and 10,000 roles.
Previously, the European Works Council slammed the company's transformation plan, arguing that it is just a "euphemism" for layoffs, adding that the management "did not adequately justify the business logic and did not provide accurate information about inefficiencies."
