SIX Group announced Thursday that Bjorn Sibbern will assume the position of CEO effective January 1, 2025.
Sibbern will succeed Jos Dijsselhof, who will step down after seven years to pursue new opportunities in the Middle East. He has been the Global Head of Exchanges at SIX and has extensive experience in capital markets, including senior roles at Nasdaq and OMX Exchanges. He holds multiple business degrees from Copenhagen Business School.
Thomas Wellauer, Chairman of SIX, praised Sibbern as a "proven and highly connected capital markets expert," citing his leadership and motivation since joining the company in 2024. He also acknowledged Dijsselhof's contributions, including strategic acquisitions like Spain's BME exchange and innovations such as SDX, which expanded SIX's global presence.
