The British government is expected to announce the appointment of Samir Shah as the next chairman of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the Financial Times reported on Wednesday. BBC's former head Richard Sharp resigned in April after it was found he broke the rules of public appointment.
Shah is a British television and radio executive who was named one of BBC's non-executive directors in 2007. He is also the CEO of Juniper, a television and radio production company. According to the report, the announcement could be made as early as later today.
