German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Israeli Minister without Portfolio Benny Gantz discussed the latest developments in the Gaza war and on Israel's border with Lebanon in a phone call on Friday, the German government said in a statement.

According to the statement, Scholz warned that it is necessary to prevent the Gaza conflict from spreading to other parts of the region, adding that Israel must improve the humanitarian situation of the people in the Gaza Strip and strive to protect the lives of civilians.
