German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Tuesday he is not worried about United States President Joe Biden's mental fitness. Scholz, who was answering reporters' questions ahead of his departure for the NATO summit in Washington DC, said Germany and the US are cooperating on a wide range of issues, including security.
The situation in Ukraine will be the main topic of NATO's annual summit, as member countries pledged to extend their military support to Kiev and boost the war-torn country's efforts to stave off Russian advances on the battlefield.
At the same time, doubts have been rising regarding Biden's ability to perform his presidential duties following his performance in the first debate against his Republican rival Donald Trump in June. Biden has insisted he is fit for office and will continue to seek re-election.
