German Chancellor Olaf Scholz proposed on Wednesday a so-called "Germany Pact" to federal states and municipalities with the goal to modernize the country.
In a speech delivered to the Bundestag, Scholz noted that the plan would include all government agencies showing more "speed and courage" to make Germany safer and more modern. The plan includes digitization, which would comprise of, among other things, allowing citizens to get 15 important services, such as re-registration of residence, getting ID cards and driver's licenses, digitally by the end of 2024.
Scholz also noted the proposal includes accelerating general procedural law and simplifying road and rail projects.
