German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is planning a visit to Israel in the coming days with the purpose of expressing support for the country following the eruption of new conflicts in the Gaza Strip, German media outlet Bild reported on Monday, citing Israeli sources.
According to the report, the chancellor could arrive in Tel Aviv on Tuesday, from where he would continue his trip to Egypt.
On Friday, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock paid a visit to Israel, where she met with the country's government officials and relatives of the kidnapped Israeli citizens.
