United States Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer stated on Monday that he has received assurances from high-ranking officials at the State Department and Pentagon that the US is giving Israel "everything" it needs amid the recent escalation in the region with the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
"I urged them to ensure Israel has everything it needs to protect itself, and reiterated that the Senate stands ready to deliver on additional needs," Schumer said in the statement, revealing that at least four Americans have died in the conflict. Namely, the White House is "keeping a careful eye on Iran" and "their proxies" to make sure that the situation does not expand, Schumer noted.
Previously, Iran denied its involvement in the conflict that erupted over the weekend in parts of Israel and Gaza Strip.
