Scotland's First Minister Humza Yousaf (pictured) confirmed on Monday that he will be resigning.
Speaking at a press conference, Yousaf remarked that he will continue to serve as the first minister until a successor has been found. "For a minority government to be able to govern effectively and efficiently, trust when working with the opposition is clearly fundamental ... After spending the weekend reflecting ... I've concluded that repairing a relationship across the political divide can only be done with someone else at the helm," he said.
In addition, Yousaf announced he would also be stepping down as the leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP).
