Russian economy able to withstand sanctions - PM

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin underscored on Tuesday that the country's economy demonstrates the ability to adapt even in the face of unprecedented unilateral sanctions.

Speaking in a video address at the World Thematic Conference held in Moscow, the country's prime minister explained that the sanctions imposed against Russia only result in "severe damage" to those who impose them.

Moscow accused the West of intending to deflect blame on Russia "for everything that happens," according to Mishustin, adding that the raging costs of commodities, raw materials, and food "occurred long before the events of this year." "We can confidently say that no one will be able to stop the Russian economy and undermine domestic political stability," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov underscored at the conference.
