Secret Service's Republican National Convention (RNC) Coordinator Audrey Gibson-Cicchino said on Sunday there will be no change in security plans for the upcoming RNC convention in the wake of the attempted assassination of presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump.
"We are fully prepared and have a comprehensive security plan in place and are ready to go," Gibson-Cicchino said at a press conference, adding the Secret Service is cooperating with the Milwaukee Police Department in ensuring the safety of convention's attendees, volunteers, and organizers.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said it has not identified "specific and articulated threats" against the RNC. The convention is set to begin on July 15, with Trump poised to secure the Republican nomination. Trump was the target of an attempted assassination on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania, in which two people, including the suspected shooter, were killed.
