European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Maros Sefcovic said Friday that the newly announced US tariffs reflect the first tangible results of the EU-US trade agreement, particularly the 15% all-inclusive tariff cap.

In a statement on X, Sefcovic stressed that the move "reinforces stability for EU businesses as well as trust in the transatlantic economy." He added that EU exporters now benefit from a stronger competitive position in the US market.

The tariff cap is part of ongoing efforts to ease trade tensions and provide predictability for companies on both sides of the Atlantic. "The work continues," Sefcovic concluded, conveying further steps toward closer economic cooperation.
