Wholesale inventories in the United States advanced by 0.2% in October compared to September's revised figures and reached $905 billion, in line with analysts' expectations, the US Census Bureau revealed in its report on Monday. Total inventories rose by 0.9% year-on-year.
The sales of merchant wholesalers, adjusted for seasonal variations and trading-day differences but not for price changes, stood at $675.1 billion in the reported month, decreasing by 0.1% compared to September's revised figure and increasing by 0.9% compared to the same period in the previous year.
Based on seasonally adjusted data, the inventory-to-sales ratio was 1.34, down from 1.35 in the prior month.
