United States Senate Democrats are planning to take revenge on President Donald Trump over the US Agency for International Development (USAID) shutdown, Axios reported on Tuesday.

According to the report, Senate Democrats weigh delaying the confirmation of all Trump nominees. Senator Richard Blumenthal told the media outlet that he is willing to put Trump's nominations on hold in the Senate Judiciary Committee, adding that the caucus is acting as if there is a blanket hold on Trump nominees.

On Monday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that he was appointed acting director of the USAID after news agencies reported that the Trump administration intends to shut it down as an independent agency and move it under the State Department.
